About The Nickel Boys
In Jim Crow-era Florida, Elwood Curtis and Turner are unjustly trapped in a brutal reform school based on the real Dozier School. Whitehead turns their ordeal into a spare, devastating story of abuse, survival, dignity and the long reach of buried history.
