About The Dance Tree
In Strasbourg in 1518, a woman begins dancing in the city square and cannot stop; soon hundreds of women join her, terrifying the men who govern the city. Outside the city walls, pregnant beekeeper Lisbet lives a constrained life that is disrupted by the return of her sister-in-law Nethe after years of penance. As the dancing plague grows, Lisbet is pulled toward secrets, forbidden desire, and danger.
