About Monstrous Beauty
Mermaid Syrenka abandons the sea for the young naturalist Ezra, setting in motion a chain of horrific consequences. Nearly 140 years later, seventeen-year-old Hester meets a mysterious Ezra and feels an inexplicable pull toward him, even though love has brought death to generations of women in her family. Their search for answers leads through graves, crypts, and the ocean as powerful forces try to keep Hester from uncovering her connection to Syrenka's tragedy.
