About Necessity
More than sixty years after Athena founded the Just City, the experiment has changed beyond its original vision. The divided cities have been moved by Zeus from ancient Thera to the distant planet Plato, where a new generation has grown up, the society is flourishing, and contact with alien species has begun. Then two shocks arrive at once: Pytheas dies as a mortal and returns as Apollo, while a human ship from Earth appears in orbit. As gods, humans, and aliens collide, the future of Athena’s philosophical experiment is thrown into question.
