About Vampire Charming

Slade, King of the Vampires, has spent a thousand years living a rarified existence on an enchanted island, but now he is stuck in modern-day Chicago and hates it. His destined mate has divorced him, his people have abandoned him, and no one in the backwards human world makes any sense. He needs a new kingdom to rule, somewhere he can regain his crown, defeat villains, save a damsel in distress, and prove that he is still a hero. Luckily, he knows a witch who can transport him into a very interesting screenplay. Jane Squire is a pragmatist and a loner who does not believe in fairy tales. She has her sensible life under control, working the night shift at a grocery store and taking acting jobs on the side, until the self-proclaimed "King of the Vampires" arrives to turn her peaceful world upside down. Slade is sure he needs Jane to sidekick on his epic quest, but not only does the arrogant lunatic get her fired, she is somehow transported into the worst fantasy movie imaginable. With script pages full of stolen dialogue, random musical numbers, and a cast of supernatural weirdos, Jane and Slade are stuck in a swords-and-sorcery film. The egotistical Vampire loves his new realm and is determined to overthrow Infinia's Werewolf despot, happily battling dragons and gathering an army of Merry Men. Despite the Hollywood bad guys trying to kidnap her and the lack of hot water heaters, Jane starts to feel like she is part of something for the first time in her solitary life, and maybe she has found her Prince Charming.
