About Those Beyond the Wall
In the desert community of Ashtown, survival is law and loyalty is enforced by fists, engines, and fear. Scales, mechanic, warrior, and trusted enforcer to the Emperor, knows how to keep order in a world divided by walls, power, and old violence. But when a friend is torn apart by an impossible force, and more bodies begin appearing in both Ashtown and the wealthy, walled city of Wiley, Scales is pulled into a mystery that threatens everything she has fought to protect. As the investigation exposes buried histories, political fault lines, and the dangerous secrets beneath Wiley City’s polished surface, Scales must confront the past she has spent years outrunning. Set ten years after The Space Between Worlds, Micaiah Johnson’s Those Beyond the Wall is a fierce, emotionally charged science-fiction thriller about rage, revolution, trauma, and the cost of imagining a better future. Immersive, brutal, and humane, it blends multiverse intrigue with a searing portrait of communities divided by power — and of those forced to live beyond the wall.
